Job Description :
The Applications Engineer will be a part of
the ARM Partner Enablement Group organization supporting the Physical IP
products. He/She will work closely with Physical IP Engineering and POP
Benchmarking teams in ARM to be able to provide deep technical expertise to
customers. The AE will need to understand in detail the Physical IP offered by
ARM. The AE should be able to collate that information in a way to make it
accessible to ARM’s many partners and support customer interaction to share
this knowledge. He/She needs to be capable of generating/debug testcases in
order to understand the partner’s challenges. They also need to be able to host
partner meetings as necessary to resolve issues.
1. Understand Synthesis, Place and Route
flows and be able to run them.
2. Understand how to read STA timing reports to the level where they can determine the QOR of an implemented design
3. Be able to run EDA tools as needed such as Virtuoso, PT, Calibre, Redhawk, etc.
4. Answer customer support questions as part of PEG relating to POP IP and Physical implementation
5. Prepare customer facing material to support internal Support, Sales and marketing teams in the form of Application Notes, White Papers and training presentations
6. Engage ARM’s partners on conference calls and in person to help understand their implementation issues and provide relevant solutions

Candidate Profile:
1. Qualified candidates will have a
university degree(s) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or other
relevant technical discipline.
2. Ideal candidate is expected to have 0 to 3 years of industry experience in related areas.
3. Technical support or design experience in a COT or ASIC design environment.
4. Good understanding and familiarity with IC circuit design and simulation with Hspice or similar circuit simulators.
5. Good understanding of memory design and simulation.
6. Hands on experience or fair knowledge of standard cells and General purpose IOs.
7. Good understanding and familiarity with Verilog or VHDL simulation.
8. Familiarity with library formats (such as Synopsys .lib format).
9. Familiarity with silicon failure analysis and silicon debugging.
10. Good knowledge of UNIX and Perl scripting.
